The Softwood Lumber Board Welcomes Four Directors
Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has appointed four members to serve on the Softwood Lumber Board (SLB). Members will serve a three-year term of office beginning January 1, 2020.
Members newly appointed include T. Furman Brodie, Effingham, S.C. (U.S. South); Jim D. Neiman, Hulett, Wyo. (U.S. West); Timothy Biewer, St. Clair, Mich. (Northeast & Lake States); and Ray Ferris, Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada West).
The 2020 Board will have 16 members, including 11 domestic manufacturers and five importers. Members can serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.
“The Softwood Lumber Board thanks Secretary Perdue for appointing a strong slate of new directors who reflect the diversity of the industry and will bring the unique perspectives from their regions,” said Cees de Jager, SLB’s CEO. “We also thank the outgoing directors for their leadership, service, and commitment to the industry and the Softwood Lumber Board. They were instrumental in guiding the SLB and helping us deliver significant impacts for the industry during our first term.”
